ARICE-PONANT call- Ships and platforms of opportunity programme

“Le Commandant Charcot” is a polar expedition ship state-of-the-art icebreaker (PC2 Class) owned and operated by the company PONANT (France). The vessel is equipped with scientific laboratories and facilities and offers to host up to four scientists to participate in their regular cruises to perform scientific projects.
A collaboration in one and up to five seasons is sought with scientific teams to carry on a research project on board “Le Commandant Charcot” in the Arctic Ocean. The scientific berths are offered free of charge, travel and shipping expenses to the port of departure/arrival are at the participant’s cost.
ARICE is managing the application process, the proposal’s evaluation and shortlisting for a posterior logistic evaluation by PONANT.

Floating University Project “École bleu outremer, Cap sur l’Océan Indien”

The European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling (ECORD) offers you the unique opportunity to sail on Expedition 398 on-board the JOIDES Resolution in the framework of the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP), an international research program for drilling at sea. Ten (10) early-career scientists and postgraduate students (PhD or MSc) involved in oceanographic work at institutions in the Western Indian Ocean will be selected by WIOMSA to participate in the Floating University project.

West P&I Science Bursary at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC)

Location: Due to COVID-19 the 2021 bursary experience will take place in virtual form, consisting of 2 exclusive NOC workshops in May 2021 followed by a 6-month mentor opportunity with a NOC scientist specialising in your area of interest. EUROFLEETS+ Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) & Remote Transnational Access (RTA) Programme
The Co-Principal Investigator (PI) Programme is specifically aimed at early career researchers, or researchers with no experience in leading a research cruise, to implement their own research together with experienced scientists in EUROFLEETS+ scheduled research cruises.
The Remote Transnational Access (RTA) Programme is providing researchers from all career stages with remote access to samples or data from EUROFLEETS+ vessels.
Applicants are able to apply for all 27 state-of-the-art research vessels (RVs) (13 Global/Ocean and 14 Regional) offered within EUROFLEETS+. For a detailed description of the Research Vessels offered by EUROFLEETS+, visit https://www.eurofleets.eu/.
