Short cv:

I have a multidisciplinary background in oceanography while studying Marine Science and Technology for my bachelor’s degree at the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria. My thesis focused on studying the spatial and temporal chemical change of the Nigerian Transgressive Mud Coastal Waters (Ondo coast, South-western Nigeria) from river-ocean interactions. Deeply rooted in a background in Marine Geosciences, I focused on understanding how the interdisciplinary ocean branches connect during my master's program by delving into physical oceanography. I studied Physical Oceanography and Applications for my Master’s degree at the International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications – Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France funded by the French Institute for Research and Development (IRD). During my thesis, I successfully created three image filtering algorithms that works efficiently in removing small-scale noises/errors from the simulated Sea Surface Height (SSH) images of the future Sea Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite and recovering its SSH data.

As a 2022 scholar of the NF-POGO CofE program, NoSoAT 2022 fits in perfectly with what my career needs as a developing early career ocean scientist. Apart from engaging in multidisciplinary sea-going ocean research and capacity development, I will be investigating on the “Heat content of different water masses in the Atlantic Ocean now and then”. I am really looking forward to learning a lot under the supervision of Prof Dr Peter Lemke. In the near future, I aim to acquire a few years of working experience and eventually pursue a PhD program.
