Short CV

Hello! I am Prince Federe, a master’s student from the Philippines working at the intersection of marine science and computational modeling. My research explores which corals are likely to survive through the end of the century under local and global environmental pressures using ecological models. With a background in computer science, I integrate computational approaches into marine science to better understand and support coral reef resilience.

Though completely different from a tropical setting, I managed to do research in Antarctic waters! I was part of the SD058 POETS-WCB cruise under the British Antarctic Survey, where I contributed to polar oceanographic and ecological research. The cruise involved biological sampling, krill imaging and analysis, acoustic calibration, CTD and mooring operations, and preliminary data analysis using Python. These helped me grow as an early-career scientist by providing extensive hands-on experience in Antarctic field and shipboard science.
