Short CV

I am an early-career ocean professional and a Registered Chemist. I got my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Marine Science–specializing in the marine physical sciences–at the same university’s Marine Science Institute. My academic journey and research interests are focused on chemical oceanography, particularly in studying water quality, carbonate chemistry, blue carbon, and the impacts of ocean acidification on marine environments.

Currently, I work as a research associate conducting field sampling, laboratory analyses, and data interpretation for the water quality component of a project assessing the environmental impacts of reclamation activities and for the blue carbon component of a project investigating coastal ecosystems adaptation to sea level rise. I am passionate about contributing to research that supports ocean health under a changing climate, applying my skills across both laboratory and field settings. This hands-on approach to marine science led to my participation in the SEAmester VIII 2025 shipboard training on the R/V SA Agulhas II, as well as other research expeditions across the Philippine seas.
