Short CV

I am an Environmental and Social (E&S) Specialist with a strong background in climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and integrated coastal zone management. I hold a PhD in Integrated Coastal Zone Management from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, where my research focused on flood risk management in coastal communities using nature-based solutions, particularly mangrove ecosystems. I also have a Master’s degree in Environmental Pollution and Toxicology and a Bachelor’s degree in Animal and Environmental Biology. My expertise spans environmental risk assessment, ecosystem service modelling (including the InVEST Coastal Vulnerability model), geospatial analysis, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on translating scientific evidence into policy-relevant solutions.

In my current role as an E&S Specialist, I support the identification, assessment, and management of environmental and social risks in development projects, ensuring alignment with international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards and best practices in sustainability. I have contributed to climate risk assessments and policy-relevant reports, including work with the World Bank on flood risk and climate development. I am actively engaged in advancing ocean and coastal resilience through my role as Co-Coordinator of the Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP) Nigeria Node under the UN Ocean Decade. My work is driven by a commitment to integrating science, policy, and community perspectives to deliver sustainable and inclusive environmental outcomes.
