Short cv:

I am a PhD student in marine biogeochemistry at the National University of Ireland, Galway. I graduated with a Master’s degree in engineering in chemistry at École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (ENSCR, France).

There, I trained in analytical chemistry in a wide range of samples and analytes. Through internships and projects, I specialized myself in analytical chemistry in the marine environment: deep-sea sediments, surface water samples, etc. For example, I took part in the analysis of sediments cores near hydrothermal vents in the Guaymas basin, recovered during the IODP expedition 385, supervised by Dr. Lucie Pastor (Ifremer).

Now, my PhD project aims to evaluate the potential of sea gliders in the monitoring of biogeochemical parameters, specifically dissolved oxygen and primary productivity in the North-east Atlantic Ocean, and to investigate different sensors technologies deployed on gliders. This project is in partnership with the Marine Institute in Ireland and the Plataforma Oceánica de Canarias (PLOCAN) in the Canary Islands, Spain.

Ideally, I would like to combine my knowledge in analytical chemistry, engineering and programming and apply it to problematics raised in research, and more specifically to the consequences of our changing climate.

For this reason, this expedition will be a unique opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and skills in marine sciences and gain experience in this field, as well as meet other early-career marine researchers and scientists.
