Short CV

Doreen is a marine science graduate from the University of Dar es Salaam with a strong focus on oceanographic data analysis and marine spatial mapping. Her academic work has centered on the use of bathymetric and environmental data to understand coastal and marine systems, with particular interest in how seafloor morphology and ocean dynamics influence ecosystem processes.

Her bachelor’s research project focused on bathymetric mapping for coastal erosion assessment, where she applied spatial analysis techniques to evaluate seabed structure and its role in shoreline change. In addition, she contributed to oceanographic data work within fisheries-related research through the AABC project, integrating environmental datasets to support a better understanding of marine resource distribution and variability.

Her current interests lie in advancing marine mapping approaches and applying oceanographic data to support sustainable management of coastal and marine environments and aquaculture.
